GRNT 5105. Psychology of Aging (3-0-3) Prerequisite: PSYC 1101. Overview of research methods and findings on psychological and behavioral processes during aging. Emphasis on current research on learning, memory, and cognition in aging.
GRNT 5106. Sociology of Aging (3-0-3) Prerequisite: SOCI 1101. The sociological analysis of aging in modern society. The examination of aging as a social construct and the attitudes and values surrounding the aging process primarily within an American context.
GRNT 5107. Survey of Gerontology
(3-0-3) The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction and overview of the
biology, psychology, and sociology of aging. In addition, contemporary topics related to
older individuals and aging are introduced.
